Method One: Adding Through the Floorboard
1. Park the car on a level surface. Engage the parking brake.
2. Crawl underneath the car. Locate the transmission fill plug, which is typically located on the side of the transmission near the top.
3. Remove the fill plug. Use a wrench to loosen the fill plug and remove it.
4. Insert a funnel into the fill hole. Be careful not to spill any fluid.
5. Add transmission fluid. Use a transmission fluid pump or a funnel to add transmission fluid to the car.
6. Reinstall the fill plug. When you have added the correct amount of fluid, reinstall the fill plug. Tighten the plug until it is snug.
7. Check the fluid level. Use a dipstick to check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Add" and "Full" marks on the dipstick.
Method Two: Adding Through the Hood
1. Open the hood of the car.
2. Locate the transmission fluid reservoir. The reservoir is typically located on the side of the engine near the top.
3. Remove the reservoir cap. Use a wrench to loosen the cap and remove it.
4. Add transmission fluid. Use a transmission fluid pump or a funnel to add transmission fluid to the reservoir.
5. Reinstall the reservoir cap. When you have added the correct amount of fluid, reinstall the reservoir cap. Tighten the cap until it is snug.
6. Check the fluid level. Use a dipstick to check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Add" and "Full" marks on the dipstick.
