How do you change a 2002 BMW 325 battery?

Tools and materials needed:

* New battery (same size and type as the original)

* 10mm wrench

* 13mm wrench

* Flat-head screwdriver

* Wire brush

Instructions:

1. Disconnect your car's negative battery terminal. To do so, use a 10mm wrench to loosen the nut on the negative battery terminal and then lift the cable off of the terminal.

2. Remove the air filter housing. To do so, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the cover off of the air filter housing. Then, use a 10mm wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the air filter housing in place and remove them.

3. Remove the battery tray. To do so, use a 13mm wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the battery tray in place and remove them.

4. Remove the old battery. To do so, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the hold-down bracket away from the battery and then lift the battery out of the tray.

5. Clean the battery tray. To do so, use a wire brush to clean the battery tray and the battery terminals.

6. Connect the positive battery terminal to the new battery. To do so, place a 13mm wrench on the positive battery terminal and tighten the nut until it is snug.

7. Replace the air filter housing and the battery tray.

8. Reconnect your car's negative battery terminal to the negative battery terminal on the new battery. To do so, use a 10mm wrench to loosen the nut on the negative battery terminal and then lift the cable off of the terminal.

9. Start your car and test the new battery. Make sure that the battery is charging properly and that all of the electrical components in your car are working correctly.
