Materials Needed
-10 mm socket wrench
-Flat head screwdriver
1. Open the hood of the car.
2. Locate the battery in the engine bay. It is usually located on the passenger side, near the firewall.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. This is the black terminal. Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable to the terminal, and then remove the cable.
4. Disconnect the positive terminal from the battery. This is the red terminal. Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen the nut that holds the cable to the terminal, and then remove the cable.
5. Remove the hold down clamp. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry up the plastic cover on the hold down clamp.
6. Remove the battery. Lift the battery out of the engine bay. Be careful not to drop it.
