How fast can a car go?

There is no definitive answer to this question as the top speed of a car can vary greatly depending on a number of factors, including the make and model of the car, the engine power, the weight of the car, and the aerodynamic design.

Some of the fastest cars in the world can reach speeds of over 250 miles per hour (400 kilometres per hour), while some of the slowest cars may only be able to reach speeds of around 50 miles per hour (80 kilometres per hour).

The world's fastest production car is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which has a top speed of 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h). This record was set in August 2019 at the Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany.

However, there are a number of experimental cars that have reached even higher speeds. The Thrust SSC, a British car, set a world record for the fastest land speed in 1997, reaching a speed of 1,227.986 mph (1,976.42 km/h).
