1. Check your mirrors and blind spots to make sure it is clear to pass.
2. Signal at least 100 feet before you start to pass.
3. Accelerate smoothly to pass the other vehicle.
4. Once you are clear of the other vehicle, return to your original lane.
5. Do not pass a vehicle in the following areas:
* On a hill
* On a curve
* Within 100 feet of an intersection
* In a school zone
* In a construction zone
6. Be especially careful when passing a large truck or bus. These vehicles have large blind spots, and it can be difficult for the driver to see you.
