Where is the transmission dip stick for a 1989 Toyota pickup with automatic?
The 1989 Toyota pickup (Hilux) with an automatic transmission does not have a transmission dipstick. Instead, the transmission fluid level is checked by removing the transmission fluid pan bolts and allowing a small amount of fluid to drip out. If the fluid level is correct, it will drip out to a level just below the bottom of the pan. If the fluid level is low, it will not drip out at all.
