1. Disconnect the secondary spark plug cables from the spark plugs by grasping and twisting them counterclockwise. Pull the spark plug cables straight up and out of the wells.
2. Thread a spark plug wire removal tool into the base of the spark plug housing. Make sure to use the correct size for the spark plug cable boot.
3. Grasp the handle and pull the boot and tool straight up. Continue rotating and prying outward with the tool until it snaps off the plug.
4. Once the tool has snapped off the plug, turn the handle counterclockwise and twist the housing off the plug.
5. Blow the debris from the cylinder head.
6. Using an air compressor, blow compressed air into the spark plug well to remove any debris that cannot be seen. Allow sufficient time for the debris to be blown out.
7. If the spark plugs or spark plug wells appear excessively oily or dirty, use an oil absorbent to remove the oil. Ensure the area around the spark plug well is dry before reinstalling the spark plugs.
8. To install, apply anti-seize to the threads of the new spark plugs. Tighten the spark plug into the cylinder head by hand until it seats properly.
9. Use a spark plug socket and turn clockwise to tighten. Tighten the spark plugs to 25 ft-lbs (34 Nm).
10. Replace the spark plug housing, boot, and secondary ignition wire.
