Where is the hood latch located inside a 2005 WV beetle?

The hood release lever for a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle is located inside the driver's side footwell. You will need to look underneath the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel. The lever is a small, black plastic handle that is about 6 inches long.
