1. Park your van in a safe location and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Open the hood of your van.
3. Locate the throttle body. It is a cylindrical-shaped part of the engine with a butterfly valve inside that controls the air flow into the engine.
4. Find the throttle cable bracket on the throttle body. It is usually located on the side of the throttle body.
5. Disconnect the old throttle cable from the throttle cable bracket. To do this, you may need to use a screwdriver or pliers to pry the cable end off the bracket.
6. Attach the new throttle cable to the throttle cable bracket. Make sure that the cable is securely fastened to the bracket.
7. Connect the other end of the throttle cable to the throttle lever on the carburetor.
8. Adjust the throttle cable tension. To do this, turn the throttle cable adjustment nut until the throttle valve is fully closed. Then, turn the adjustment nut back until the throttle valve opens slightly.
9. Close the hood of your van.
Test the throttle cable to make sure that it is working properly. To do this, start the engine and rev it up. The throttle valve should open and close smoothly.
