1. Check the fuel pressure. The fuel pressure should be between 55 and 65 psi. If the fuel pressure is too low, the fuel pump may be faulty.
2. Listen for a humming noise. When the fuel pump is working properly, you should be able to hear a humming noise coming from the fuel tank. If you do not hear a humming noise, the fuel pump may be faulty.
3. Check the fuel filter. The fuel filter is located in the fuel line between the fuel tank and the fuel injector. If the fuel filter is clogged, it can restrict the flow of fuel to the engine and cause the fuel pump to fail.
4. Inspect the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay is located in the fuse box under the hood. If the fuel pump relay is faulty, it will not be able to send power to the fuel pump and the fuel pump will not be able to run.
If you suspect that the fuel pump is out on your 2008 Chevrolet Impala, you should take it to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
