Pull on the interior door handle: Firmly grasp the interior door handle and pull it towards you to unlock and slide open the door. Some Astro vans may have a two-step process where you first pull the handle to release the latch, and then pull again to slide the door open.
Use the exterior door handle (if equipped): Some Chevy Astro vans also have an exterior door handle on the sliding door. If your van is equipped with this feature, you can open the sliding door by pulling the exterior door handle.
Pull the release knob (if equipped): Some Astro vans may have a release knob or button located near the top of the sliding door. If your van has this feature, pull the knob or button to unlock and slide open the door.
Note: If the sliding door is not opening smoothly, make sure the tracks and rollers are clean and free of dirt and debris. You can use a vacuum cleaner or brush to clean the tracks and rollers, and apply a lubricant if necessary.
