Advanced Design was the name commonly given to a series of light trucks by Chevrolet from 1947 through 1955 before the introduction of the "Task Force" or "Second Series" trucks in mid-1955 for the 1956 models.
Advanced Design trucks also formed the bulk of medium duty GM vehicles in this era, and while still sharing bodies and cabs with their light-duty siblings they diverged greatly mechanically.
