- As refrigerant passes through the evaporator core, it absorbs heat and causes condensation. If the evaporator core is damaged, the condensate may leak into the passenger compartment.
3. Leaking Heater Core:
- A faulty heater core can also be responsible for water on the floorboard.
- If the heater core is leaking, it can drip coolant into the passenger footwell, which may be mistaken for water from the AC.
4. Damaged Weather Stripping:
- Worn or damaged weather stripping around the doors or windows can allow water to seep into the vehicle, particularly during heavy rain.
- Check the weather stripping around the passenger door and window for gaps or tears.
5. Blocked Cowl Drain:
- The cowl, located at the base of the windshield, has a drain to allow water to drain away.
- If this drain becomes clogged with debris, water can back up and seep into the passenger footwell.
6. Sunroof Drain Issue (if applicable):
- If your Wrangler has a sunroof, check the sunroof drains to ensure they are clear and free of debris. Blocked sunroof drains can cause water to leak into the passenger compartment.
7. Leaking Windshield Seal:
- A compromised windshield seal can allow water to leak into the passenger footwell, especially when driving in heavy rain or during car washes.
