Parts Needed:
· New Radiator
· Drain Pan
· Antifreeze
· Funnel
· Wrench Set
Step 1: Drain the coolant
1.1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down.
1.2. Place a drain pan under the radiator.
1.3. Locate the draincock at the bottom of the radiator.
1.4. Open the draincock and allow the coolant to drain.
Step 2: Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses
2.1. Loosen the hose clamp on the upper radiator hose.
2.2. Pull the upper radiator hose off the radiator.
2.3. Repeat the process for the lower radiator hose.
Step 3: Remove the radiator
3.1. Remove the bolts holding the radiator in place.
3.2. Carefully remove the radiator from the vehicle.
Step 4: Install the new radiator
4.1. Place the new radiator in the vehicle.
4.2. Insert the bolts and tighten them securely.
4.3. Reattach the upper and lower radiator hoses.
4.4. Replace the hose clamps and tighten them securely.
Step 5: Refill the coolant
5.1. Mix the coolant with water according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5.2. Slowly pour the coolant into the radiator.
5.3. Keep adding coolant until the radiator is full.
5.4. Replace the radiator cap.
Step 6: Test the cooling system
6.1. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
6.2. Check for any leaks from the radiator or hoses.
6.3. If there are no leaks, turn off the engine and let it cool down.
6.4. Check the coolant level and add more if necessary.
Step 7: Test drive
7.1. Take the vehicle for a test drive.
7.2. Make sure that the cooling system is working properly by monitoring the temperature gauge.
7.3. If the temperature gauge is reading normal, then you have successfully replaced the radiator.
Note:
· If you are not comfortable performing this repair yourself, it is recommended to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic.
· Be sure to dispose of the old radiator and coolant properly.
· Do not reuse the old coolant.
