The thermostat is located in the thermostat housing, which is at the front of the engine block, below the upper radiator hose.
Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the four bolts that hold the thermostat housing to the engine block.
4. Lift off the thermostat housing and gasket.
5. Remove the old thermostat from the housing.
6. Install the new thermostat in the housing. Make sure that the thermostat is installed with the spring side facing the engine block.
7. Place the new gasket on the thermostat housing.
8. Install the thermostat housing and bolts. Tighten the bolts snugly.
9. Fill the cooling system.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
