How do you change a heater core on 1990 suburban with air-conditioning?

1. Park your Suburban in a safe location and turn off the engine.

2. Open the hood of your Suburban.

3. Locate the heater core. The heater core is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, behind the air intake.

4. Disconnect the heater core hoses. There are two heater core hoses that connect to the engine block. Use a wrench to loosen the hose clamps and then pull the hoses off of the nipples.

5. Remove the heater core mounting bolts. There are two heater core mounting bolts that hold the heater core in place. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts and then remove them.

6. Pull the heater core out of the engine compartment. Be careful not to spill any coolant.

7. Inspect the heater core for damage. If the heater core is damaged, replace it.

8. Reinstall the heater core in reverse order of removal.

9. Fill the coolant reservoir with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks. If there are no leaks, your Suburban is ready to drive.
