1. Open the hood of the car.
2. Locate the engine oil filter housing. It is a black plastic canister located on the front of the engine, just below the spark plugs.
3. Remove the oil filter housing cap by turning it counterclockwise.
4. Remove the old oil filter from the housing.
5. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
6. Screw the new oil filter into the housing until it is snug.
7. Replace the oil filter housing cap and turn it clockwise until it is snug.
8. Lower the hood of the car.
