- Turn off the engine and allow the vehicle to cool down.
- Jack the vehicle up and use jack stands to support it safely off the ground.
Step 2: Locate the Chassis Grease Fittings
- Use a flashlight if necessary to locate the grease fittings on the vehicle's chassis.
- Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for specific locations of the grease fittings.
- Common locations include the front control arms, tie rod ends, ball joints, and rear suspension components.
Step 3: Apply Grease to the Fittings
- Clean the grease fittings with the flat-head screwdriver and a rag to remove any dirt or debris.
- Attach the grease gun to a grease fitting.
- Pump grease into the fitting until you see fresh grease emerging from around the seal.
- Do not over-lubricate the fittings, as this can damage the components.
Step 4: Finish and Lower the Vehicle
- Repeat the process for all of the grease fittings on the chassis.
- Wipe off any excess grease from the fittings and surrounding areas with a rag.
- Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove the chocks.
- Test drive the vehicle to ensure that the chassis is properly lubricated and functioning smoothly.
