1. Park the car on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down.
2. Disconnect the battery's negative terminal.
3. Drain the coolant from the radiator by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator.
4. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner bolt and sliding the belt off of the pulleys.
5. Remove the four bolts that secure the water pump to the engine block.
6. Carefully pry the water pump off of the engine block using a pry bar or flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the gasket surface on the engine block.
7. Clean the gasket surface on the engine block and the water pump.
8. Apply a new gasket to the water pump.
9. Position the water pump on the engine block and align the bolt holes.
10. Insert the four bolts and tighten them securely.
11. Replace the serpentine belt and tension the properly.
12. Refill the radiator with coolant.
13. Reconnect the battery's negative terminal.
14. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes to circulate the coolant.
