2. Follow the intake hose from the throttle body to the intake manifold.
3. The EGR valve is located on the bottom of the intake manifold, near the back. It's a small, silver or black valve with two hoses attached to it.
4. To remove the EGR valve, simply disconnect the two hoses and unbolt the valve from the manifold. Be careful not to lose the bolts.
5. Once the EGR valve is removed, you can clean it by spraying it with carb cleaner and wiping it off with a rag. Be sure to get all of the carbon buildup off of the valve.
6. Once the EGR valve is clean, reinstall it in the reverse order that you removed it.
*Here are some additional tips for cleaning your Maxima's EGR valve:*
- It's a good idea to clean the EGR valve every 30,000 miles or so. This will help to keep your engine running smoothly and efficiently.
- If you're having trouble removing the EGR valve, you may need to use a wrench or a socket wrench to loosen the bolts.
- Be careful not to damage the EGR valve when you're cleaning it. If you damage the valve, it will need to be replaced.
