1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need a new transmission filter, a transmission fluid drain pan, a new gasket for the transmission pan, and transmission fluid.
2. Raise the vehicle. Using a jack and jack stands, raise the vehicle so that you can easily access the underside. Be sure to set the parking brake and chock the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
3. Remove the transmission pan. Locate the transmission pan and remove the bolts that hold it in place. Carefully lower the pan and drain the transmission fluid into the drain pan.
4. Remove the old filter. Once the transmission pan is removed, you will be able to see the old filter. Remove the bolts that hold it in place and remove the filter.
5. Inspect the transmission pan and gasket. While the transmission pan is off, take a moment to inspect it for any damage or leaks. Also, inspect the gasket and replace it if it is damaged.
6. Install the new filter. Place the new filter in the transmission pan and secure it with the bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug but do not overtighten them.
7. Reinstall the transmission pan. Place the transmission pan back on the transmission and secure it with the bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug but do not overtighten them.
8. Refill the transmission fluid. Add new transmission fluid to the transmission through the dipstick tube. Use the amount of fluid specified in your Kia Amanti's owner's manual.
9. Check the transmission fluid level. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check the transmission fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
Lower the vehicle, remove jack stands.
10. Test drive the vehicle. Take your Kia Amanti for a test drive to ensure that the transmission is shifting smoothly.
