- Unbolt the air filter assembly and remove it from the engine bay. This will allow you to access the starter.
3. Disconnect the starter wires:
- Locate the starter wires connected to the solenoid. Disconnect these wires by removing the nuts holding them in place.
4. Remove the starter bolts:
- Locate the two bolts that hold the starter to the engine. Remove these bolts using a socket wrench.
5. Remove the starter:
- Once the bolts are removed, you can gently pry the starter away from the engine and remove it. Be careful not to drop it.
6. Install the new starter:
- Position the new starter in place and insert the mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts securely using a socket wrench.
7. Reconnect the starter wires:
- Reconnect the starter wires to the solenoid, securing them with the nuts. Ensure they are tightened securely.
8. Reinstall the air filter assembly:
- Place the air filter assembly back in place and secure it with the removed bolts.
9. Reconnect the battery:
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal that was disconnected earlier. Tighten the terminal nut securely.
10. Test the starter:
- Try starting your Corolla. The engine should start smoothly with a new starter.
