Rocker arm torque:
* Intake: 12 ft-lb (16 Nm)
* Exhaust: 12 ft-lb (16 Nm)
Rocker arm torque sequence:
1. Intake valve closest to the timing chain
2. Intake valve furthest from the timing chain
3. Exhaust valve furthest from the timing chain
4. Exhaust valve closest to the timing chain
Additional notes:
* Use a new rocker arm gasket each time you remove the rocker arms.
* Make sure to clean the rocker arm pivot shafts and the rocker arm pads before installing the new gaskets.
* Tighten the rocker arm nuts in a criss-cross pattern to evenly distribute the torque.
* Do not over-tighten the rocker arm nuts, as this can damage the threads.
* If the engine has been running rough, it is a good idea to check the rocker arm clearances. The clearances should be between 0.008 and 0.012 inches (0.2 and 0.3 mm).
