How do you change the coolant in a Honda Accord EX 2000?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- New Coolant (Honda Genuine Coolant or equivalent)

- Distilled Water

- 5-gallon bucket or large container

- Funnel

- Wrench or socket set

- Pliers

- Safety goggles

- Gloves

Instructions:

1. Prepare the vehicle. Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely. Engage the parking brake and turn off the engine.

2. Locate the radiator drain plug. The radiator drain plug is usually located at the bottom of the radiator. It is a small, plastic or metal plug.

3. Place the container under the drain plug. Position the 5-gallon bucket or large container under the drain plug to catch the old coolant.

4. Open the drain plug. Use the wrench or socket set to loosen and remove the drain plug. Allow the old coolant to drain completely.

5. Close the drain plug. Once all the old coolant has drained, replace and tighten the drain plug.

6. Remove the radiator cap. The radiator cap is located at the top of the radiator. Use the pliers to loosen and remove the cap.

7. Add the new coolant. Pour the new coolant into the radiator through the funnel. Add enough coolant to fill the radiator to the "Full" mark.

8. Add distilled water. Add distilled water to the radiator until it reaches the "Full" mark.

9. Replace the radiator cap. Replace the radiator cap and tighten it securely.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new coolant throughout the engine.

11. Check the coolant level. After a few minutes, turn off the engine and check the coolant level. If the level is below the "Full" mark, add more coolant.

Note:

- Be sure to use the correct type of coolant for your Honda Accord EX 2000. Using the wrong type of coolant can damage the engine.

- Do not mix old and new coolant.

- Always wear safety goggles and gloves when working with coolant. Coolant is poisonous and can cause skin irritation.

- Dispose of old coolant properly. Do not pour it down the drain or into the environment.
