2003 Kia Spectra Water Pump Replacement

1. Prepare your vehicle. Remove the negative battery cable and disconnect the upper radiator hose.

2. Drain the coolant. Open the radiator drain plug and allow the coolant to drain into a pan.

3. Remove the water pump pulley. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.

4. Remove the water pump. Remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump.

5. Install the new water pump. Place the new water pump in place and secure it with the bolts.

6. Install the water pump pulley. Place the water pump pulley on the water pump shaft and secure it with the bolts.

7. Reconnect the upper radiator hose. Connect the upper radiator hose to the water pump.

8. Refill the coolant. Add coolant to the radiator until it is full.

9. Start the engine and check for leaks. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the water pump.

If you notice any leaks, turn off the engine and retighten the bolts until the leak stops.
