1. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. It is generally situated on the left-hand side of the engine in front of the engine block. It will look like a plastic bottle with a black cap and is commonly marked with "PS."
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Do not open the power steering fluid reservoir when the engine is hot.
