2. Remove the trim piece located beneath the door handle by gripping the front and rear lower corners and pulling outward (it is also retained to the door panel by press tabs).
3. There are a total of 12 retaining push-in type clips that hold the door panel to the door shell. The trim removal tool has a forked tip; insert the fork tip between the door panel and the door shell near one of the clips, and pry outward to release the clip. Use the opposite end of the trim tool to pry the clips out of the holes in the door panel. This will release the door panel. Disconnect the door panel wire connector, the power lock switch connector and window switch connector.
4. Remove the window regulator mounting bolts; lift up the door panel and place it on the window glass to rest.
5. Remove the vapor barrier by grasping the rubber beading, and peeling it off the door shell. If the vapor barrier will be reused then remove the adhesive residue from it.
6. If not already separated, separate the vapor barrier from the door panel.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Take caution when reinstalling the door clips, as they can easily fall into the door cavity if dropped inside the door.
