- Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) Vehicles: All Front-Wheel-Drive vehicles can be dolly-towed. They must be towed with the front wheels off the ground.
- Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) Vehicles: Rear-Wheel-Drive Vehicles may not be dolly towed! This is because they would need to be towed backwards, which would damage the transmission.
- All-Wheel-Drive Vehicles (AWD): All-Wheel-Drive Vehicles can be towed using a tow dolly, BUT the vehicle’s owner’s manual should be checked for any specific instructions. In general, AWD Vehicles should be towed with all four (4) wheels off the ground. If that is not possible, the vehicle’s driveshaft should be disconnected.
