The starter on a 1993 Honda Civic LX is located on the bottom-right side (passenger's side) of the engine bay, near the transmission bell housing. It is directly adjacent to the engine block oil filter.
To access it:
1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Locate the starter, which is a cylindrical-shaped component mounted on the side of the engine. It has two wires connected to it.
3. The starter is held in place by two or more bolts. You will need a wrench or socket to remove these bolts.
4. Once the bolts are removed, you can carefully remove the starter from its housing.
5. Be careful not to drop the starter, as it is heavy and could cause injury.
6. Disconnect the electrical wires from the starter by pressing down on the release tab and pulling them off.
You can then inspect or remove the starter and replace it if necessary. Be sure to connect the electrical wires securely and tighten the starter bolts before closing the hood.
