1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood and locate the fuel filter. It is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the firewall.
4. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter. There are two fuel lines connected to the filter, one on each side. Use a fuel line wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the fuel lines in place. Be careful not to spill any gasoline.
5. Remove the mounting bracket bolts. There are two bolts that hold the fuel filter bracket in place. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts and remove them.
6. Remove the fuel filter bracket and fuel filter. Once the bolts are removed, you can remove the fuel filter bracket and fuel filter from the car.
7. Install a new fuel filter. Insert the new fuel filter into the fuel filter bracket and make sure it is seated properly. Replace the mounting bracket bolts and tighten them securely.
8. Reconnect the fuel lines to the fuel filter. Use a fuel line wrench to tighten the nuts that hold the fuel lines in place.
9. Start the engine and check for leaks. There should be no fuel leaks from the fuel filter. If you see any leaks, tighten the fuel line nuts until the leak stops.
