How do you take out a starter on 1988 Nissan pickup with v6 engine?

* Ratchet

* Extension bars

* Starter replacement part

Instructions

1. Prepare the vehicle. Park the vehicle on a level surface, and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels. Open the hood of the vehicle.

2. Locate the starter. The starter is located on the driver's side of the engine, near the bottom. It is a cylindrical-shaped component with two electrical terminals.

3. Disconnect the battery. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical shocks.

4. Remove the starter bolts. Use the socket wrench and extension bar to remove the two bolts that hold the starter in place.

5. Remove the electrical terminals. Use the socket wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the electrical terminals in place. Be careful not to drop the nuts.

6. Remove the starter. Once the bolts and terminals are removed, you can remove the starter from the vehicle.

7. Install the new starter. Place the new starter in the position and secure it with the two bolts.

8. Reconnect the electrical terminals. Reattach the electrical terminals to the starter and tighten the nuts.

9. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

10. Test the starter. Start the engine to test the starter. Make sure that the starter engages and disengages properly.
