1. Park your Kia on level ground.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Open the hood of your vehicle.
4. Locate the starter motor located at the rear of the engine, on the passenger's side, near the transmission. It is held in place by two bolts.
5. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid any accidental starting of the engine.
6. Remove the two starter motor bolts using a wrench.
7. Remove the starter motor from the vehicle and replace it with a new one.
8. Reattach the starter motor bolts and reconnect the battery negative terminal.
9. Start your vehicle and test the starter motor.
