1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the AC belt. The AC belt is usually located on the front of the engine and is connected to multiple pulleys. On the 1999 Chrysler LHS, the AC belt is typically routed around the water pump, crankshaft pulley, power steering pump, and AC compressor.
4. Loosen the tensioner pulley. The tensioner pulley is a pulley with a spring-loaded mechanism that keeps the AC belt tight. On the 1999 Chrysler LHS, the tensioner pulley is located on the front of the engine, near the top. Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley by turning the bolt counterclockwise.
5. Remove the AC belt. Once the tensioner pulley is loose, you can remove the AC belt by slipping it off the pulleys. Start by removing the belt from the outermost pulley and work your way inward.
6. Install the new AC belt. Place the new AC belt around the pulleys in the reverse order of removal. Start by placing the belt on the innermost pulley and work your way outward.
7. Tighten the tensioner pulley. Once the new AC belt is in place, tighten the tensioner pulley by turning the bolt clockwise until the belt is tight.
8. Close the hood of your car.
Remember to dispose of the old AC belt properly according to local regulations.
