1. Gather the necessary tools and parts. You will need:
* A new set of spark plugs (check your owner's manual for the correct type)
* A spark plug wrench
* A ratchet or breaker bar
* A socket set
* A gap gauge
* Pliers
2. Prepare your vehicle. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Disconnect the battery. Remove the air cleaner cover.
3. Locate the spark plugs. The spark plugs are located on top of the engine, near the front.
4. Remove the old spark plugs. Use the spark plug wrench to loosen the old spark plugs. Be careful not to drop the spark plugs into the engine.
5. Check the gap on the new spark plugs. Use the gap gauge to measure the gap between the center electrode and the ground electrode on the new spark plugs. The gap should be set to the specifications listed in your owner's manual.
6. Install the new spark plugs. Hand-tighten the new spark plugs until they are snug. Then, use the spark plug wrench to tighten the spark plugs until they are seated.
7. Reconnect the battery.
8. Start your engine. Verify the engine runs smoothly.
Here are some additional tips:
* Be sure to use the correct spark plugs for your vehicle.
* Do not overtighten the spark plugs.
* If the spark plugs are difficult to remove, you can use a penetrating oil to loosen them.
* If you have any questions, consult your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic.
