1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Locate the battery cover, which is secured by two plastic latches.
3. Unlatch the plastic latches and remove the battery cover.
4. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by loosening the nut that holds the terminal cable in place.
5. Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery by loosening the nut that holds the terminal cable in place.
6. Remove the battery hold-down clamp by unscrewing the bolt that secures it in place.
7. Lift the battery out of the battery compartment and place it on a level surface.
