When you run out of gas do lose your power steering?
When a vehicle runs out of gas, the power steering system is usually not affected. Power steering systems typically rely on hydraulic pressure generated by a pump driven by the engine to assist in turning the wheels. As long as the engine is running, the power steering pump will continue to operate and provide power assistance to the steering system. However, once the engine stops running, the power steering pump will no longer be able to generate hydraulic pressure, and the steering will become much heavier and more difficult to turn.
