1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the battery cover on the right side of the motorcycle, just below the seat.
3. Remove the battery cover by unscrewing the two bolts that hold it in place.
4. Disconnect the negative battery terminal (black) by loosening the nut that holds the cable in place.
5. Disconnect the positive battery terminal (red) by loosening the nut that holds the cable in place.
6. Lift the battery out of the motorcycle.
7. To reinstall the battery, simply reverse the steps listed above.
