To check the transmission fluid level, the vehicle must be level and the engine must be running. Remove the level check plug and allow any excess fluid to drain out. If no fluid drains out, the transmission fluid level is too low and should be added. Reinstall the level check plug.
To add transmission fluid, remove the fill plug and use a funnel to add fluid until it begins to flow out of the level check plug. Reinstall the fill plug and check the transmission fluid level again to make sure it is full.
