Here are the steps on how to access the battery:
1. Open the hood of your Equinox.
2. Look for the black plastic cover located on the right side of the engine compartment.
3. Unlatch the cover and remove it.
4. The battery will be located underneath the cover.
You may need to remove other parts or covers in order to gain access to the battery. However, this simple guide should generally walk you through the process. If you come across a situation you do not feel comfortable overcoming, take your vehicle to a mechanic who can better assist you in reaching the battery, as you wouldn't want to inadvertently risk any of the vehicle's internal workings to retrieve one part!
