Where is the speed sensor on a 2005 Hyundai sante fe?

Front wheel speed sensors location:

- Remove the left and right front tires

- Clean surrounding areas of the front hubs

Rear Speed Sensor is mounted within the rear differential cover.

- Clean the area around the rear differential cover where the sensor is located

- Once clean, disconnect the electrical harness connector

Tools Needed:

* Socket set

* Wrenches

* Pliers

* Flat-blade screwdriver

Instructions:

For the front wheel speed sensors:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake to keep your car from rolling.

3. Chock the wheels behind the front tires to prevent them from rolling forward or backward.

4. Raise the front of your vehicle with a jack and place jack stands under the front frame members to support the vehicle.

5. Remove the front tires and wheels.

6. Clean the surrounding areas of the front hubs where the speed sensors are located.

7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.

8. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the mounting bolt for the speed sensor.

9. Pull the speed sensor out of the hub and discard the O-ring.

10. Apply a thin coat of grease to the new O-ring and install it on the speed sensor.

11. Insert the speed sensor into the hub and hand-tighten the mounting bolt.

12. Use a wrench to tighten the mounting bolt until it is snug.

13. Reconnect the electrical connector to the speed sensor.

14. Reinstall the front tires and wheels.

15. Lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands.

For the rear speed sensor:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake to keep the vehicle from rolling.

3. Chock the wheels behind the rear tires to prevent them from rolling forward or backward.

4. Raise the rear of your vehicle with a jack and place jack stands under the rear frame members to support the vehicle.

5. Remove the rear wheels and tires.

6. Clean the area around the rear differential cover where the speed sensor is located.

7. Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the speed sensor.

8. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the mounting bolts for the rear differential cover.

9. Carefully remove the rear differential cover from the differential housing.

10. Remove the rear speed sensor from the cover and discard the O-ring.

11. Apply a thin coat of grease to the new O-ring and install it on the rear speed sensor.

12. Thread the rear speed sensor into the cover until it is snug.

13. Reinstall the rear differential cover using a new gasket and the mounting bolts you removed earlier.

14. Tighten the mounting bolts until they are snug.

15. Reconnect the electrical harness connector to the speed sensor.

16. Reinstall the rear tires and wheels.

17. Lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands.

Test the speed sensors

- Test the speed sensors by driving the vehicle at different speeds and monitoring the speedometer reading

- Check for any discrepancies between the actual speed and the speed displayed on the speedometer
