1. Open the hood of the vehicle and locate the battery in the engine compartment.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery by loosening the nut with a 10mm wrench and removing the cable from the terminal.
3. Disconnect the positive terminal of the battery by loosening the nut with a 10mm wrench and removing the cable from the terminal.
4. Remove the battery hold-down bracket by removing the two 13mm bolts that secure it to the vehicle.
5. Lift the battery out of the engine compartment and dispose of it properly.
When installing a new battery, be sure to connect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
