1. Locate the belt tensioner. The belt tensioner is located on the front of the engine, near the top. It is a small, black device with a pulley and a spring-loaded arm.
2. Insert a breaker bar into the tensioner. There is a small hole in the tensioner arm that is used to insert the breaker bar.
3. Turn the breaker bar clockwise. As you turn the breaker bar clockwise, the tensioner arm will move and release the tension on the serpentine belt.
4. Remove the belt from the pulleys. Once the tension is released, you can remove the belt by sliding it off the pulleys.
Tips:
- If you do not have a breaker bar, you can use a long screwdriver or other tool to pry the tensioner arm back.
- Be careful not to over-tighten the belt. The belt should be tight enough to prevent it from slipping, but it should not be too tight.
