1. Locate the key release button. On most Honda Pilot keys, the release button is located on the back of the key. It's usually a small, round button.
2. Press and hold the release button. While pressing the release button, pull on the key's metal part to remove it from the plastic casing.
3. Remove the old battery. The battery is held in place by a small clip. Gently pry up the clip with a small screwdriver or other thin object to remove the battery.
4. Insert the new battery. Make sure the positive (+) side of the battery faces the positive terminal in the keyholder.
5. Close the key casing. Snap the key's metal part back into the plastic casing.
