How do you install a car stereo into 2001 OLDS Aurora?

Tools:

* Phillips-head screwdriver

* Flat-head screwdriver

* Wire cutters/strippers

* Electrical tape

* New car stereo

* Wiring harness (if needed)

* Dash kit (if needed)

Instructions:

1.) Disconnect the battery. This is a safety precaution to prevent any electrical shocks.

2.) Remove the old car stereo. There are four screws that hold the stereo in place. Remove these screws and carefully pull the stereo out of the dash.

3.) Disconnect the wiring harness. The wiring harness is the bundle of wires that connect the stereo to the car's electrical system. Disconnect the wiring harness by pressing down on the release tab and pulling it out of the stereo.

4.) Install the new stereo. If you are using a new stereo that is different from the old stereo, you may need to use a wiring harness adapter. Connect the wiring harness adapter to the stereo and then to the car's wiring harness.

5.) Slide the new stereo into the dash. Make sure that the stereo is securely in place.

6.) Replace the screws that hold the stereo in place.

7.) Reconnect the battery.

8.) Test the new car stereo. Turn on the car stereo and make sure that it works properly.

Additional Notes:

* If your car has a factory-installed amplifier, you may need to bypass it in order to install a new stereo.

* If your new stereo does not have a built-in amplifier, you will need to install an external amplifier.

* If you are not comfortable installing a car stereo yourself, you can have a professional installer do it for you.
