Where do you add transmission fluid on 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan?

1997 Dodge Grand Caravan Transmission Fluid Replacement

Tools and Materials Needed:

* New transmission fluid (check owner's manual for the correct type and amount)

* Funnel

* Wrench

* Rags

* Safety glasses

Procedure:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Open the hood of your vehicle.

3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually a bright-colored plastic stick located near the back of the engine.

4. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.

5. Reinsert the dipstick and check the level of the transmission fluid. It should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.

6. If the transmission fluid is low, you will need to add some. To do this, remove the transmission fluid filler cap (usually located on the top or side of the transmission) and insert the funnel.

7. Pour the new transmission fluid into the funnel until the level reaches the "Full" mark on the dipstick.

8. Replace the transmission fluid filler cap and the dipstick.

9. Start your vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new transmission fluid throughout the transmission.

10. Check the transmission fluid level one more time to make sure it is between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.

11. Close the hood of your vehicle.

Note: If you are not comfortable changing your own transmission fluid, you can have it done by a qualified mechanic.
