1. Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
3. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
4. Reinsert the dipstick and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
5. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark. Use a funnel to avoid spilling any fluid.
6. Reinsert the dipstick and check the fluid level again. Make sure that it is not overfilled.
7. Close the hood and start the engine.
8. Let the engine run for a few minutes, then check the transmission fluid level again. It should still be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
Tips:
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly, especially if you are towing or driving in hot weather.
* Use only the type of transmission fluid specified in your owner's manual.
* If you notice any leaks in the transmission, have them repaired immediately.
* If the transmission fluid smells burnt or is black, it should be changed.
