2. Drain the coolant.**
* Place a drain pan under the radiator and open the radiator drain cock.
* Allow all of the coolant to drain out.
3. Locate the thermostat housing.**
* The thermostat housing can usually be found on the passenger side of the engine, at the base of the water pump.
4. Remove the old thermostat housing and gasket.
* Remove the two bolts that secure the thermostat housing to the engine.
* Remove the old thermostat and gasket.
5. Replace the thermostat with a new thermostat.**
* Place the new thermostat in the thermostat housing.
* Make sure that the thermostat is properly seated in the housing.
6. Replace the thermostat housing gasket.**
* Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the new gasket.
* Place the new gasket on the thermostat housing and install.
* Tighten down the thermostat housing bolts.
7. Refill the coolant system.**
* Add fresh coolant to the cooling system until it reaches the "full" mark on the radiator.
* Start the engine and let it warm up.
* Check for any leaks or air pockets.
8. Reconnect battery negative terminal.
