- A set of wrenches
- A set of sockets and ratchet
- A pry bar
- A drain pan
- Transmission fluid
1. First, you will need to disconnect the battery. This is done by removing the negative cable from the battery terminal.
2. Next, you will need to drain the transmission fluid. To do this, locate the drain plug on the transmission pan and remove it. Allow all of the fluid to drain out into a drain pan.
3. Once the transmission fluid has been drained, you can begin to remove the transmission. Start by removing the nuts and bolts that hold the transmission to the engine.
4. Once the transmission is disconnected from the engine, you will need to remove the crossmember that supports the transmission. To do this, remove the bolts that hold the crossmember in place.
5. Once the crossmember has been removed, you can lower the transmission by using a pry bar. Be careful not to drop the transmission.
6. Once the transmission has been lowered, you can disconnect the driveshaft from the transmission. To do this, remove the bolts that hold the driveshaft in place.
7. Once the driveshaft has been disconnected, you can remove the transmission from the vehicle.
