The water pump on a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus is located on the front of the engine, below the timing belt. To access it, you will need to remove the timing belt cover and then you will see the water pump located behind it.
Instructions to remove the water pump:
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
2. Remove the serpentine belt.
3. Remove the timing belt cover.
4. Remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump.
5. Clean the gasket surfaces and install a new gasket.
6. Install the water pump and replace the water pump bolts.
7. Replace the timing belt cover.
8. Install the serpentine belt.
9. Refill the coolant system.
Tips:
- Make sure to use a new gasket when installing the new water pump.
- Tighten the water pump bolts to the specified torque.
- Refill the coolant system with the proper coolant mixture.
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to check for leaks.
