Upstream oxygen sensor:
- The upstream oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold, just after the catalytic converter.
- It monitors the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases before they enter the catalytic converter.
Downstream oxygen sensor
- The downstream oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust pipe, after the catalytic converter.
- It monitors the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases after they have passed through the catalytic converter.
